The Color Bar – Relaxation {revisited}

People usually link the color “gray” with sadness, and this is true if used in excess without balance. Gray is a non-color and the emotional response is rather neutral, but when crisp white or a splash of bold color is added to the color palette, the dull gloomy, gray mood is transformed into a relaxing oasis.

Gray calms the eye and makes the other colors in a room standout – whites are crisper and bold colors are rich and dramatic.

  1. Beautiful blog. Thank you so much!
    Very nicely done.

    1. Thank you Susan! Beautiful showroom. We hope to see more from you here as we grow!

  2. Beautiful sample pictures to illustrate the point. I love gray, I find it very relaxing too.

  3. I completely agree with you about the greys. I’m thinking about painting my multi-functional home office in a light grey and give it pops of color throughout the room. My window draperies & accessories will have the most punch of color to add some fun and life to the room. Thanks for the inspirations!
